Has Hungary's government
announced plans to reinstate the ban on agricultural imports
from Ukraine? "We do not believe that such measures risk
fragmenting the single market," said European Commission
spokesperson Thomas Regnier during the daily press briefing.
These measures are "justified following the recent
comprehensive update of the EU-Ukraine free trade agreement,
given the robustness and protection clearly offered by last
year's updated agreement, including a safeguard clause that can
be activated if additional imports would cause serious
difficulties for either the EU as a whole or individual Member
States."
